One more day of Christmas! Boxing day had arrived. There wasn’t any rain predicted for the whole day. So we decided to go out, have a walk and get some fresh air. When searching for nearby places to go we stumbled upon Heusden.

Heusden is a fortified star shaped city. Similar to the ones we visited before like Willemstad and Bourtange. Standing on top of the fortifications you can get a little bit of an idea of that shape. Walking through the picturesque streets and the narrow alleyways there are so many centuries-old, well-preserved buildings and facades with beautiful stonework to discover. This gives the town a really charming character. What a great way to soak up some atmosphere on a Christmassy day!
