Last day in L’Estartit. The next day we would be leaving again. We still wanted to do the boat trip. So we gave it another shot. We were happy to see the boat was leaving in the morning and would do a full trip (along the coast and around the Medes Islands). We boarded a big yellow boat called the Nautilus and off we went. The nice things about this boat is that is has a glass-bottom with underwater viewing. This makes it possible to see under water (only took some iPhone shots there) and have a look at the flora and fauna. The whole trip took about 1,5 hours and a strong stomach helps. 🙂

A Little Bit About Figueres
We woke up with the idea to have a boat trip in L’Estartit. But we changed our plans when we found out the boat would only do a small tour around the Medes Islands instead of the complete tour due to the heavy wind. So we decided to drive to Figueres and see the town of Salvador Dali instead.
Evening Fun at the Beach
When we came back from Girona we decided to have a (500 meter) walk to the beach and have a look. We only passed it by car but didn’t actually put our feet in the sand yet. With so much water around we knew Iván wouldn’t stay dry but seeing that big smile on his face was priceless!
Catching Some Sun in Girona, Spain
We planned visiting my cousin in Spain since it had been a while. Looking in our agenda’s we eventually came up with October. Instead of visiting their house they offered using their apartment in L’Estartit, which is a small town and seaside resort on the Costa Brava. To make things easier for ourselves we also rented a car. We had visited Barcelona a couple of times but hadn’t seen much else of Catalonia. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and decided to visit Girona on Friday. The Catalonia independence situation luckily didn’t cause any problems.
